Notre Dame Vice-President to Preach at Trinity Church

University of Notre Dame Vice President (The Rev. Canon) Hugh R. Page, Jr. will be visiting Trinity Episcopal Church, 600 Franklin Street Michigan City Sunday, March 31 at 9 am.  As guest clergy he will be celebrating Mass and preaching. All those interested in meeting Page are invited to attend a coffee reception following the service.

As a teacher and mentor Page uses methods from the Renaissance to encourage intellectual growth.  By any standards Page himself ranks as a 21st Century Renaissance man.  In addition to his academic achievements Page is an Episcopal priest, poet, author, photographer, martial artist, and certified tennis teaching professional. If that weren’t enough, on the week-ends he sings and plays harmonica in a popular Michiana blues band called the Oblates of Blues.

His writing and preaching includes the understanding of the African and African American experience through the influence of the Bible in ways that promote justice, equality, and the promotion of human dignity. He is general editor of The Africana Bible: Reading Israel’s Scriptures from Africa and the African Diaspora
